Ubuntu Empower
Ubuntu Empower
Ubuntu Empower is an integrated, community-based programme delivering education, football, faith-based life skills, and nutrition to combat the challenges of poor literacy and numeracy foundations, a lack of positive role models and food insecurity. Each Ubuntu Empower site provides a structured after-school model for a maximum of 65 learners in Grades 3–7.
The program is designed for national replication and strategic corporate partnership and we launched our first Ubuntu Empower site in collaboration with UTTE (Urban Think Tank Empower) in Site C, Khayelitsha in 2025, and - after seeing great results in the lives of the young people - we launched the Eighty20 Ubuntu Empower Westlake at Westlake Primary School (our second Empower site) and we will be launching our third site in Jeffrey’s Bay in early 2027.
If you are a corporate and would like to partner with us and develop further impactful, Empower sites in underserved communities across South Africa, then please contact Mark Slessenger: mark.slessenger@ubuntufootball.com
